Review of Acer Allegro

Though this specs are not something extra-ordinary for a Smartphone, it is the new OS that is going to make the difference. Featuring Metro UI as that of Windows 8 Desktop, tile interface of Windows Phone Mango makes device look very attractive. Apart from its ooks, Mango offers some unique features like personalized Hubs for better user interaction. It includes features like App Connect, Music launcher and more to provide a personal touch to the user, rather than making Smartphone just an app launcher.
1 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM promises good Mango experience. It also has 8 GB of internal memory, which cannot be expanded further. Having external card slot would have made crowd turn toward this gadget. 3.6 inch display offers capacitive touch experience with a resolution of 480 x 800. This size is similar to that of recently launched Windows Mango phones by other manufacturers.
Acer Allegro sports a 5 megapixels camera that is capable of capturing bright and clear images, thanks to digital zoom. It offers connectivity over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1.

Acer Allegro Price

The major attraction factor of Allegro is its price tag. The device is expected to get released before Christmas for $400 or 299 Euros. It is expected to be available in India at an approximate price tag of Rs.15,800/- around November 2011.

Verdict

Its price tag and OS are the weighing factors that can make users buy this device. However, it cannot compete with high-end Android phones in the market that are superior in terms of features and specs. For those who want to experience Windows Mango and are not craving for high-end Smartphone, Acer Allegro is the best alternative.
